Loth Lorien and Wylde Swan to return

Tall ships are to return to the Thames for a second season of Sail Royal Greenwich.

Last year's event coincided with London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and offered cruises from Woolwich to Tower Bridge for individuals and corporate bookings.

Laurens Winkel of Sail Royal Greenwich said: “Sail Royal Greenwich is a fantastic way to enjoy the maritime heritage and iconic Thames-side views of this unique and historic area. Last year we saw more than 12,000 people join us and we’re really looking forward to building on that success this summer”

Passengers will pass sights including the Old Royal Naval College, the Queen's House, the Royal Observatory, the Thames Barrier, The O2, the Meridian Line and The Cutty Sark.

Cllr Chris Roberts, Leader of the Royal Borough of Greenwich said: “I’m delighted that the Royal Borough will be playing host to such a spectacular fleet again. The inaugural Sail Royal Greenwich event showed how successfully Woolwich can host a large scale cultural event. Our aim is that Sail Royal Greenwich becomes a regular fixture on our event calendar, attracting a growing number of visitors, both domestic and international.
