A new exhibition of photography celebrating the River Thames has gone on display in Greenwich town centre in south east London.
The 'On The Thames' collection of pictures shines a light on the variety of ships and boats that can be seen on the tidal Thames and includes sailing barges, tall ships, cruise ships, a dredger, tugs, the Royal Navy and more.
Well-known maritime photographer Rob Powell has assembled the exhibition at the Rivington restaurant & bar in Greenwich in association with The Greenwich Gallery which is located in nearby Royal Hill.
It coincides with the publication of Rob's 2017 calendar featuring 12 of his best Thames pictures.
He commented: "It's been another super year for photographing the river and I was especially proud to get a photo I took of the Queen's row barge Gloriana on the front page of the Times back in April.
"This is my first exhibition and it's a great way to round off the year with a look back to some highlights from of 2016 and also include some of my favourites from my archive.
"It's been a brilliant experience to work with the respected photographer Tony Othen from The Greenwich Gallery to select the images which have gone on display!"
Some of the photos in the exhibition also appear in the brand new On The Thames 2017 calendar.
Now in its fourth year of production, the £6.99 calendar is available at the Rivington, or by ordering online at www.londonphotocalendars.co.uk or on Amazon (right). The exhibition will remain at the Rivington for approximately three months.
